You Don't Even Have To Be Having Fun

Yeah, so, you may have noticed my absence & such.  This may have something to do with:

  • working every single day.
  • rehearsing 3 nights a week.
  • knitting a 10 foot long Rider scarf {it's AWESOME!}
  • bookwork
  • living
  • sleeping
  • packing
  • computer problems FROM HELL
  • time flying
  • & a severe case of the lay-zay.
I'm off to festivus tomorrow morning ~ shall be back to Casa Wilma Sunday sometime, most likely terribly hungover & extremely sleep-deprived.

If all goes well.

Stuck In The Middle

I'm on my 6th day of a 10 day stretch of work.

Yup.  You read right.  10 DAYS IN A ROW!

Big Boss Man, his lovely wife & Krissie all buggered off to attend a wedding, leaving me to go in daily to do deposits, prepare floats, & other such stuffs.  So far it hasn't really interfered with any fun plans that I have, but it's just taking a toll on me mentally. I'm not used to being held accountable for my time to anyone but me, & a day off from all responsibilities would be lovely.

They return home tonight & I start working at the bank tomorrow.  It's been a while since I was there, so am looking forward to it.

I keep wavering back & forth between which job I like best & I've come to a startling conclusion ~ I don't have to choose!  I can like them both, for different reasons at different times.  Being a Gemini, & a pretty typical one at that, I get bored with same old, same old verra, verra easily.   This two job thing I've got going on may be just the variety I need to keep my interest peaked.

I still wonder how an artsy gal with an English degree ended up working with numbers & money, but mayhaps this leaves me the artsy stuff for fun-time?

Either way, I am definitely going to enjoy the weekend.  a) FancyPants is coming for a visit from Taiwan, where she has been for almost 2 years this time & 2) we're headed to the lake to see Peanut & Vinnie. Good times & martinis for everyone!

My Brain Hurts

I was at work for 8.5 hours today.  I spent most of that time at the computer, working with little bitty numbers on a printout.

I have a headache & am going to bed.

That is all.

So, I've Been ... Distracted

You know how sometimes, life gets in the way?  Have you ever noticed?

It's been a wild ride the last few weeks, what with the theatre rehearsal & the working & the driving across the province (over 400 km one way, that's 250 miles to you that still think in miles) for meetings, & the getting drunk, & the having Conrad the Hobbit visiting & the working the other job, & the blah, blah, BLAH!

Sweet jeebus, can I just have one day, just ONE FREAKIN' DAY to sleep in & not have 412 things on my to-do list where I don't have to leave the house & can stay in my jammies all day?  Can I?  Please?

Apparently, not until hell has a big ol' frost.  Or, 4 weeks from now ~ whichever comes first.

There Are Only 24

I've been so awfully busy.  I really have.  It's been all I can do to get on here & do my days of grace {Sooooo close ~ I must finish, I must finish!}.  Can't even think about writing something coherent &/or witty.

So, what's up?  What's happenin'?  What isn't!  That's the question you should be asking, boys & girls.

I've bumped my working days up to 3 a week at Le Cocque Rouge.  Bills keep pouring in & there is only so much ca$h to spread around, so I'm trying to get ahead.  Or at least tread water a little.

Theatre has started up, & I've come out of self-imposed semi-retirement to take a small part, as well as be stage assistant.  I lurve my part.  I lurve this unapologetic, fun, sultry woman.  I lurve that the part is only a special guest star cameo role.  It's been great this last month, only needing to attend one rehearsal a week, whilst others are living at the hall.  This week, my involvement becomes more intense & will continue to be so until after Festivus in April.

The Olympics are on, did you know?  We have been bombarded by advertisements for months & months here in Canada, causing me to declare "I can't wait until the stoopid Olympics are over!  I'm sick of them already & they haven't even started!"  There are Olympic ads during the Olympics, which I find strange. Yeah, we get it, we're watching it right now.  Gosh!   Nevertheless, I am watching as much of it as I can.  The TV has been permanently tuned into CTV or TSN.  As much as I scoff about it & the cost & the controversies & the hype, I do enjoy the precision, the drama {not necessarily Brian Williams version of drama}, the talent, the athleticism, the winning.  I have felt some patriotism.  I even watched curling.  Curling!!!

I've been exercising like a demon, treadmilling every day & daily alternating my ab workout with a weight workout I've devised with the help of Dr. Oz.  I have to wear a skimpy costume onstage & want to look my best.  Doesn't hurt that I'm in a weightloss bet with Peanut again ~ $10 a pound!  I need all the motivation I can get.

So yeah, between all this I'm also trying to keep the house relatively clean, read my way through the stack of books T1 brought me when I was recovering from surgery {7 months ago EEP!} watch some of the many, many movies that Harley has brought us, learn how to use my Blackberry, my iPod, and my camera, visit with the girls, & basically live life.

There are not enough hours in the day.

ABBA Knew What They Were Talking About

Last week I was on a high, a real high.  High on life!  I had done all my figurin' & listin' & weighed my expenses vs. my expected income, & January was going to be a good month.  If I wasn't totally off my nut, I was gonna come out ahead 400 smackers.  $400!!!!   That's a big load of cashola, a big bucket of change for Wilma, let me tell you.

I had plans for that money.  No, I wasn't buying purses & shoes ~ I was gonna put it toward my teeth.  My bee-you-ti-full teeth that I will have someday soon.  Yup.  That $400 was gonna buy me almost half a tooth.  Almost.

So, when I innocently picked up the mail today, little did I know, little did I suspect that contained within was a...um... fly in the ointment, so to speak.

Stoopid bullet & it's stoopid licence due February 4th making me 300 clams in the red.

Ah, but you're soooo cute.  I can't stay mad at you!

Love you!  Mean it!

I'll just pick up some more shifts at Le Cocque Rouge.  It'll be fine.

I'm Pretty Tired, & I'm Not Feeling Right

I'm not going to lie to you ~ it was a beeeyotch of a day, boys & girls. After getting only 5 hours of sleep {thank you SO MUCH, Stephanie Bond, for your amusing & engrossing novels} I worked the morning at the office job, ran home, changed clothes, fixed hair, then worked the afternoon at the bank.

The gale force winds sucked all my residual energy away; the styling boots I wore cramped my feet; the constant interaction with people taxed my poor, tired brain. Too tired to cook something for supper, I made do with a sandwich & some canned peaches. Too tired to watch football ~ I thank Jeebus that the Riders are not playing tonight...what would Karma do if I fell asleep during one of their games?!?

My abdomen is feeling...well, off. There are things going on down there that, in all honesty, I'm just really trying not to think of. I can't do anything about it until my Stalked Doctor appointment on Wednesday, so all I can do is hope it's just a minor set-back due to over-exertion too soon. That's all it is, right? It's not a herniated bowel or anything, right? My uterus hasn't decided to grow back, right? Yeah, so tired, that's all I can think of right now.

Did I mention that my Stalked Doctor is leaving me moving away for greener pastures? Yup. I finally have that man trained to laugh at my jokes, give me drugs whenever I ask for it, & remove unnecessary organs upon request & HE IS MOVING AWAY! {SOB!}

It's a good thing I'm exhausted right now & can't deal with my abandonment issues. He better hope I don't have a good night's sleep Tuesday or he is going to get such a look! I may even lose it, Berline. I just may.

We Interrupt Your Regularly Scheduled Programming...

So, not only am I recovering from the shock of saying goodbye to the DemonSpawn on Friday, but I am also trying to fit in as many work days as I can to make up for the 2 months of wages that I lost having surgery {a shit-load when you're a casual, P.S.} & started rehearsals for the festival play I'm directing.

Tomorrow is another day in the smock ~ I rawk the smock! ~ then, I think I'll give myself the day off.

Mayhaps Wednesday we'll see Grace in Small Things return. I'm sure hoping there's some grace to report, as the hits just keep coming...

  • replaced the water heater today ~ last one bought March, 2008. That's 18 months, boys & girls. 18 months. Redunkulous! Here Mr. Plumber, take this cheque.
  • Puffy noticed water damage to the wall in the basement located under the kitchen sink/dishwasher. Here Mr. HandiMan, take this cheque.
  • muffler on The Bullet is loose & rattling like a canasta in heat. Here Mr. Mechanic, take this cheque.

Momma G announced today that she probably wouldn't be retiring until age 90. I think I'm also a member of that plan, as my Super7 ticket netted me exactly ZERO DOLLARS, blowing my retirement plan out of the water.

I'm sure there's something graceful in there under the pile of shite. I'll let you know if I find it.
