New Toy

As many of you know, I've got a teeny, tiny, wee bit of an obsession with the past ~ particularly when it comes to music & movies. I struggle to keep an interest in new releases in both areas. Thankfully, my friends {you know who you are} help me out of my self-imposed exile in the past & make me watch new films & listen to new songs to keep me, if not current, at least aware that there is still stuff being produced today.

Well, we've taken a GIANT step backward in time here at Casa Wilma. I purchased a new toy in January, & just finally installed & used it last week. It is amazing! It is fabulous! It is revolutionary! It is....

The ION USB Turntable. The very necessary, very needed invention that I was crying for not too long ago. This incredible machine hooks up to your computer via the USB port, records your records {Sheesh! no wonder people have trouble learning the English language!} & transforms them to WAVE files so you can BURN CDS! Yes! It's true!

It also works like a hot damn! Peanut loaned me a couple albums of The Queen City Kids, the little known but much loved band from {rhymes with a lady part, hehehe} The Queen City. After much swearing, a flip-out or two, a beer, & a home visit from Harley, it was up & running & working smooth like butter.

I can't wait to get some time to start going through my record collection. Then I'll do Conrad & Bronco B's. Then I'll hang my shingle & make some cash! There must be a legal way to do this, right? I'm not selling the music, I'm selling a service. It's gotta be legal.

Or mayhaps I'll just not advertise. Yah, that's it. That's the ticket. That's the way to do it. Do it nice & quiet, see.
