LA 2007 ~ Driving

We rented a Chrysler Sebring Convertible for the second year & had a blast driving around with the top down & the tunes up. Peanut had brought a kick-ass CD that we rather enjoyed ~ it's now referred to as the "LA 2007 Soundtrack". Well, in my mind it is.

I can quite proudly say that I did not have any major flipouts involving pouting, yelling, & throwing the map on the floor this trip. Thankfully, between the three of us we are now able to remember where the places are that we want to visit, for the most part {forgot our Von's was a few blocks up Laurel Canyon Blvd from Sunset however, but visited another one with almond stuffed olives to DIE FOR & fresh, bulk, dipping shrimp}. Just a minor brain fart occurred when trying to figure out where in heck Victoria Secret was {not off Hollywood Blvd like I thought, BTW} but it all worked out in the end.

Peanut came prepared as always with Google Maps & directions to most of our destinations which made it much easier & WAAAAAY less stressful for us all.

Travelling back to LA from Camarillo on the Ventura Highway {#101 FYI} with the top down & LA 2007 Soundtrack cranked up, we decided to do some filming of the traffic, sights, & sounds so Hussy sat in the backseat with Peanut's video camera & started filming. Pretty soon, the cars alongside & behind us were waving, honking, & yelling out their windows to us. Not in anger. Nope. In Friendship. We ended up making an impression on quite a few people. We even met a lady from North Carolina. I was a teeny, tiny, wee bit concerned that we would end up on the 6 o'clock news as the "3 stupid Canadians caused a major 17 car pileup on the 101 today by distracting other drivers around them", but all was well. We made it back safe.

We did see some traffic jams & this truck
weighted down with premium B.C. marijuana ~ well, that's what WE think it was anyway ~ & at one point we were going the blistering speed of 3MPH. On the freeway.

Thankfully, the powers that be in the LA area are aware that yokels like to visit so most major attractions & routes are well-marked. With a vague sense of where you need to be, you can get almost anywhere in LA. You just can't be in a hurry.
