Life Is Good

Belle, writer of Tales From a Loser, has awarded me a prize!

Apparently, life is good here at DBM.  Mucho thanx, Belle.  Thanx for giving me work ~ HA!
No, thanx.

Here are the rules:

1. First link back to the person who gave you the award. {Done & done.}

2.Answer the 10 survey questions. {Ugh!  Hard!}

3. Pass the award along to other bloggers whom you think are fantastic. {Kristine from Wait in the Van ~ today is your lucky day!  Seriously, boys & girls, check her out.  She's all kinds of awesome.}

The questions:

1. If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing this? If you aren't anonymous, do you wish you started out that way so you could be anonymous now?

I blog semi-anonymously.  Some people I know come here.

I wish I was completely anonymous. I wish I hadn't told a soul when I started.   I would find it much more freeing.  I find it restrictive that people I know, people who live here in Dodge with me, know about DBM & visit occasionally.  I censor myself because of this & that wasn't the point of me doing this.

I like to share stories, all kinds of stories, & I find myself limiting what I write about out of concern for how a)I might be perceived & b) people will react.

2. Describe an incident that shows your inner stubborn side.

I have never seen the movie "Forrest Gump" simply because everyone told me I should watch it cuz I'll LOOOOOOOOOOOVE it.  I'll decide what I will & will not watch, thank you very much.   I'll decide what I will & will not love.

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror?

I see someone who is lost.  & confused

Lost ~ don't know what I wanna be when I grow up.  Don't know when I'll grow up.

Confused ~ how did I end up looking like this?

4. What is your favourite summer cold drink?

Huh.  Let's see.  I really like a Mojito. But I also like my home-made vodka slush.  & if it's a hot day, I really like a cold beer.

Jones Soda Cream Soda is also very nice.

Can't pick a favourite.    Don't make me pick a favourite!  The others will have hurt feelings.

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do?

Veg.

I really like to veg.  & read.  & watch TV.

Nap.

Bum around on the internet.

Mostly, I like to pamper myself.  Mani, pedi, dye my hair.

6. Is there something that you still want to accomplish in your life?

Yes.  Tons!  I will have to live to be 412 to get it all done.

I want something of mine to be published.

I want to get a career - not just have a job.

I want to be happy.

I want to meet Tom Jones.

I want to learn to play the guitar & violin that I got when my grandfather died.

I want to learn to sing "Ava Maria".

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the class overachiever, the shy person or always ditching.

I was shy & socially awkward for most of my school days.  I started becoming more outgoing & self-assured at 16.  I wasn't really the class clown, but I did like to make smart-ass remarks.  Oh.  Still do.

Some people I went to school with would most likely classify me as the overachiever, but contrary to popular belief, I didn't strive that hard.  I did very well without much effort as I didn't find school that challenging, frankly, & so I pretty much coasted through.  I can see how people could find that annoying.  & disbelieve me.

This did NOT, in any way, shape or form, adequately prepare me for university.

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what would you see?

? I don't think I have one?

Good God, Maude how sad is that?

9. Is it easy to share your true self in your blog, or are you more comfortable writing about other people and events?

It's not easy for me to share my true self ~ like most people, I do not like be vulnerable.  So I hide behind my persona.  & write about other stuff.  I did make a decision to be less caring of what others think & more free with what I write about, but that hasn't really come to fruition yet.

10. If you had the choice to sit down and read a book or talk on the phone, which would you do and why?

Depends on the day.  Some days, I want nothing to do with nobody & escape into a book is all I crave.  Other days, I require contact with a living, breathing person.
