Favourite Things Thursday

My friend Blue has started a Meme, & try as I might, I can't resist taking part.

Welcome to the first "Favourite Things Thursday" here at DBM!

I'm sure everyone knows this song, sung by Julie Andrews in the film 'The Sound of Music'...

"Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things!
Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells & sleigh bells & schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things!
Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things!
When the dog bites, When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad."

No contest what I'll choose as my first Fav Thing: Betty Boop. I lurve me some Boop-Boop-Be-Doo. I've had to stop myself from becoming an obsessive collector, but I do have a few things around...

A collectible figurine...

A ball cap...

Purse {naturally!}...

Pad & pencil...
Licence plate...

Slippers {slightly worse for wear}...

My obsession came over 10 years ago, not sure why, but the flames were fanned by the ConMan who felt that one of my stage roles was very Boopish & thus supplied me with several pages of photos of Betty in various poses & costumes.

What do I lurve about Betty Boop? Her unapologetic sexuality combined with a genuine naivete, her complete & utter femaleness, & her clothes. Yup. That's it. Plus she prefers the colour red {as do I}.

Welcome on board!
Am tickled 'blue' that you've joined in.

I can see Sir has a lot to answer for - LOL.
Your Fav. Thing has given me a delightful giggle over my morning cuppa - so many Betty Boo pjammies!
My fav item the figurine - so cute - she's got a little dog too.

Take care
