Top 6 TV Shows I'm Enjoying

I lurve to discover new shows that nobody is watching. I lurve to curl up on the couch under a blanket with the fire going, chortling away at my own brilliance for finding some obscure program that I can tell people about & then pat myself on the back about, saying "I saw it first!". Or something equally snobbish to that effect.

The danger in this practice is that, more times than not, nobody else watches the show & the damn thing gets cancelled just when I am right hooked like a crack baby! This has happened to me SOOOO many times that I'm almost hesitant to start watching new shows, for fear of being left high & dry without anything to watch.

This is also why I've become a bit of a curmudgeon lately about the new people moving into town. I admit I don't do much to meet them, get to know them, or frankly, even introduce myself cuz the last few times I did that, they moved within months of me thinking I had a new friend.

Okay, wait a minute, my Spidey sense is tingling. Do they leave town because of me? Now my paranoia is kicking in full time. Bastards! What did I ever do to them? I was nice & everything ~ & that doesn't happen very often, boys & girls. Just ask Puffy.

Okay, back to the topic at hand.

Top TV shows I like to watch that no one else has heard of {mayhaps a slight exaggeration}, in no particular order:

6. Saving Grace ~ new show, started a couple weeks ago, starring Holly Hunter as an alcoholic cop who gets a last chance to change her ways before damning her soul for all eternity.
5. Tripping the Rift ~ dirty, bad, naughty cartoon about a group of five misfits on a starship. "Star Trek" this ain't! Adult content warning isn't just a precaution.
4. Spaced ~ comedy out of Britain featuring some of the same people who were involved in "Shaun of the Dead". Like it, lurve it, can't get enough of it.
3. Bromwell High ~ the adventures of three exceptionally naughty schoolgirls, one maverick headmaster and a bunch of desperate, underpaid teachers at a high school in London.
2. Popular ~ the sometimes surreal adventures of high school students on both sides of the popularity fence in LA
1. Robot Chicken ~ okay, this really is my number 1. What would you do if you had action figures of all TV shows & celebrities that ever existed & all the time in the world to play with them? It probably wouldn't even come close to how funny, brilliant, & demented this is. Not for the young, people who don't get pop-culture references, or those with no sense of humour.

Robot Chicken - I love this show. Love, love, love, love.

Saving Grace - watched most of the first episode and was appalled! Somehow the previews made me expect something completely different. But then, I've never been a fan of godshows. Highway to Heaven? Yuck! I did have a year long addiction to Seventh Heaven though, mostly because I thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen....so, so, so, so bad. That was also the same year I got hooked on Teletubbies.

I think I must have been drinking a lot that year.

7th Heaven ~ it was addicting. It was like Crack Lite.

Saving Grave ~ I have to watch. I have to see if she slurs all her words, or if she'll slip up sometimes & talk normal. Plus, I'm mesmorized by her hair. How did it get so big?

I was a little disappointed with the Saving Grace, but then I didn't give the most fair of chances. I channel jumped. It's too bad, cause I have a crush on Holly Hunter's voice. I don't know why.

As for being a television snob, I understand completely. I highly recommend finding a DVD copy of Twitch City - the best teevee ever. CBC cancelled after the second very short season, which says something sad about the CBC. Cancel the brilliance, pump up the exceptionally unfunny Little Mosque on the Prairie. Decisions made by commitee are nearly always flawed.
