After such a great start to the season {winning 2 pre-season games, & the first 2 games of the regular season} the Roughriders had a rough game against BC tonight, losing by 30 points.
Did this happen because:
(a) they did not wear their black pants?
(b) they only played 5 days ago
(c) they took Joseph out of the game too early?
(d) their head coach, Kent Austin, made some jinxy remarks to reporters this week?
I vote for (a) & (d). Austin, in his infinite wisdom {read 'abject stupidity'} gave an interview yesterday where he said, & I quote "It’s two games. That’s what it is. That’s the reality. It’s two games of an 18-game season, with a lot of good football teams in this league. We need to be very careful making too much out of that, because there will be weeks in which we struggle. No one should run out & buy Grey Cup Tickets just yet."
Is he working in cahoots with the commentators? They never have anything good to say about the Green Machine either, if they manage to mention them at all in between touting the other team as the next best thing.
Must I always defend & never gloat? Why, why, WHY?
I'm still a fan, though. They can't take that away from me.
