Life Is Not A Disney Movie

I was driving up to the town of Harmony today ~ home of the "Miners" and Conrad & Bronco Bill ~ and I couldn't help thinking I'd stumbled into a Walt Disney movie. There were birds flying around everywhere, water in ditches and fields with duck families, geese and who knows what else {not a bird watcher, this cat, oh no} swimming around.
Reminded me of "Song of the South". Almost started whistling about a bluebird on my shoulder when SMACK!

Crushed a bird on the grill of my powerful SUV. Reality came crashing in. Life is not all cherries and roses. Not a Disney movie. Or is it? Doesn't someone die in almost every classic movie Disney put out? Bambi's mom, Snow White's evil stepmother, Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty, etc. etc.

Maybe life is a Disney movie. I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille!

Nice to go there with you. I am constantly sin my own delicately imbalanced suspension of make-believe and what those around me insist is reality....
The crash of the birds life spilled on the grill. Like bills soiling my trip to the milbox twitch was in hopeful quest of something of interest comming to visit me from distant lands....

I like my reality better than anyone else's. There's something about the conviction that the world DOES revolve around me that makes me sleep better at nights - although it is a burden sometimes remembering to water your lawn to make it rain.
