All You Need Is Love...& Popcorn

Have you heard about this new movie that is scheduled to be released next week? Have you? HAVE YOU?

Oh. It's called "Across the Universe" & it is a musical using all Beatles songs. Kinda like "Mamma Mia!" is a musical using all ABBA songs. Like that. You got it, right?

Anywoo, it looks pretty frickin' amazing. I was watching Oprah Friday {not that I watch Oprah. In fact, I NEVAH watch Oprah, but I was flipping through the channels & I saw that Vera Wang was going to be on talking about her new, affordable line for people with real figures & I just lurve Vera Wang, so I did watch it & then Julie Taymor came on & I got sucked into watching Oprah! The whole show!} & they were showing clips of the movie & it really looks frickin' amazing.

It is a drama/love story set in the 1960s amid the turbulent years of anti-war protest, the struggle for free speech and civil rights, mind exploration and rock and roll. The story moves from high schools and universities in Massachusetts, Princeton and Ohio to the Lower East Side of Manhattan, the Detroit riots, Vietnam and the dockyards of Liverpool. A combination of live action and painted and three-dimensional animation, the film is paired with many Beatles songs that defined the time.

Boys & girls, I'm telling you, I think it's going to be great. You know how I know? Bono is in it. Yup. Bono. Doesn't get much better than that. Unless of course you're not a U2 fan.

I know I'm going to like this one. You can peruse the official site here.
