I've Got My Back Up

Despite the fact that the old-man-emphysema-victim DeathCough will not go away, & the surprise appearance of intermittent nausea was added to my long, LOOOOONG list of symptoms this morning, I refused to be sequestered in my own home anymore. Today ~ I went out into the world! Yes, I did!

I've been ignoring {OK, fine, procrastinating} some paperwork for the-place-where-I-worship for an embarrassingly long time {weeks} so went out & did some banking/bill paying to avoid having Guido come break my kneecaps ~ Ricardo at the Dodge Hardware is notoriously mean-tempered & not so patient {HAHA!}

The fresh air was nice but I was completely exhausted & returned home to rest & eat pancakes {comfort food. When I was a gawky, gangly teen with sore teeth from braces, pancakes were all I could eat. Pancakes & bananas. Pancakes, bananas & chicken broth. This would explain why I was a size 5 when I graduated high school. God, I was hot! Oh. I digress.}

Some marvelous worker bees stopped by Chez Wilma yesterday & took care of the back alley garden for me, so that's one more thing off my list of worries.

Demon Spawn has become complacent in his old age, as Puffy & I had to chase away a local ragamuffin stray that was stalking him in the backyard. Or mayhaps DS has hired us {unbeknownst to moi} to be his unpaid bodyguards & that would explain his total lack of concern & nonchalance whilst under the radar of the much bigger, deadlier-looking assassin that tried to creep up on him not once, not twice, but FOUR times late this afternoon. Puffy, a deadly assassin in his own right, dispatched him eventually with a combination water hose/stomping attack that was quite effective ~ & humourous.

What else is going on? I'm still in The Sick Room, as the coughing will keep poor Puffy awake. Now that he's working again {this means he's on shift, not that's he's been off or out of work. Don't get your panties in a wad.} he needs all the beauty sleep he can get.

I am off to the lake with Peanut this weekend. There will be lots of resting, laying around, & a slight bit of drinking. Also, my maiden voyage in Vinnie's new boat!

Off to bed now, as I still need all my rest.
