Weeds, Weeds Everywhere!

I am paying the price. I am being punished for being a procrastinator {even though we all know that procrastination is the only way of life ~ see previous blog for why ~ and that we should ALL procrastinate} and punished severely.

My yard looks like a dandelion convention. Hillbilly Dandelion family reunion? Rabbit Dandelion daycare? The point is ... there's a LOT of dandelions out there. And there's only one of me.

I spent 2 hours today in the back alley behind my fence digging dandelions and cleared 5 feet. 5 feet!!! There are, like, 50 feet to go! My back is killing me ~ I'm delicate and have a weak back, ask my doctor he'll tell you ~ and the ends of my fingers are all sore. On the plus side, my fingertips are getting toughened up for guitar playing, so maybe it's not so bad.

The problem is that there are more plants in the back alley than in my front yard. Trees, irises, berry bushes, perennials of all kinds. I'm reluctant to spray in case I damage/maim/kill these plants that I can use to fill in empty spots elsewhere in the yard.

It's really like a little tree nursery/greenhouse plot back there.

We should really some together and join forces for these terrible naturistic jobs we must perform in our yards, no? The weeds haunt me in my dreams...
