Favourite Things Thursday ~ Calvin & Hobbes

I lurve cartoons ~ in video & print form. I think there is nothing wrong with indulging our inner child by entertaining her with fun ... um... entertainment. Ya, that's it. {It's early & I'm getting ready for work, so don't bug me}

Of all the cartoons/comics in all the land, Calvin & Hobbes is my all-time fav.

There are so many, many things to lurve about Calvin.
  • His absolute conviction & immersion into his fantasies.

  • His complete deviousness.

  • His incredible imagination.

  • His loyalty & unshakable friendship with Hobbes.

  • His damn cuteness! His hair! His eyes!

  • His on-going feud with Susie.

  • The pranks he plays on his parents.

I've often wondered about Hobbes. Is it all in Calvin's imagination, or does Hobbes really come to life when no-one else is around like Ema in Mannequin? I like to think that he does. Wouldn't it be fabulous if Calvin had managed to get himself a magical tiger?

One of my prized possessions is a 4x6 foot painting my college roommate made of Calvin for my birthday. {photo to follow ~ or I'll be late for work again!}

I never thought I'd find this pic of Calvin, but there it was in my daily cartoon a couple weeks ago...

    American, I think. It's been around for... oh gosh, years! Since the mid 80s. It was syndicated daily in newspapers across North America.

    I think you'd like it!
