What A Thrill!

I started watching wrestling with my grandma when I was around 6. She used to stand on the couch, yelling at the TV {mostly the blind ref} while punching her fists in the air. This early exposure to one of the most entertaining "sports" shaped me for years to come. The 80's & 90's were big wrestling years for me & one of my few regrets in life is that I have never seen WWE live.

Saturday afternoon, Betty & I attended the matinee of "Aladdin, the Magical Family Musical" in Sackatoon. I was on pins & needles, wriggling in my seat impatiently until HE came out. HE looked magnificent! HE was wearing his trademark hot pink & black. HE still had long flowing locks, & muscles bulging on his arms. HE was 20 feet away from me, we were separated by only a flimsy excuse for a barricade & the orchestra pit. HE is "The best there is, the best there was, the best there ever will be". HE is Bret 'The Hitman' Hart, one of my all-time favourites wrestlers, & a great Canadian. I squeed like a little fan-girly when HE came on stage, hooted & hollered like I was drunk during his curtain call.

To see him in person, after watching him on TV for close to 30 years, I can't describe what that was like, our language is too limited. Let's just say, I had a perma-grin on my face.
Other highlights of the show {which was fabulous BTW even though attended by only 300 people} included Jennifer Dale, Derek McGrath, & amazing costuming by the talented daughter of Mr. & Mrs. ConMan.
